Atlas Distributed Computing (ADC) Operation Steering
group and Moscow Engineering Physics Institute are pleased to
announce the first ATLAS and NL-RF Regional Workshop:

Quotas for disk space, avaliable for users on Lxfarm, are introduced since
8.02.2007. Actually the quota is 5 Gbytes for each user.

New computer - wn004 - has been installed on Lxfarm. It has two dual-core
Xeon 1.86 GHz processors and 2 Gbyte RAM. This computer available only for
jobs submitted in batch via PBS system.

GRID site of MEPhI is officially registered and starts to work as a server
of LCG system.

We have finished the Lxfarm reconfiguration. Please, have a look on the

New computer - lxfarm11 - has been installed on Lxfarm. It's Pentium-IV
2.8 GHz, 512 Mb RAM.

New version of CERNLIB have been installed under /cern/2004. Now it's
default: both /cern/pro and /cern/new are pointed to /cern/2004. /cern/old
is pointed to /cern/2003. Versions /cern/2001 and /cern/2002 are still
avaliable, but if nobody really need it, I'll remove them soon.

We have finished the updating of Lxfarm computers. All of them have been
moved to new operating system: Scientific Linux CERN version 3-04, see
http://linux.web.cern.ch/linux/scientific3/ for more details.
The default C and Fortran compiler is gcc-3.2.3. You can found the old
version 2.96 under /usr/bin/gcc296. Keep in mind that some of your
programs will need to be recompiled.

New computer has been installed at MEPhI Lxfarm cluster: lxfarm10. It has
Xeon 2.8 GHz processor and 1 Gb RAM.
Please take into account that lxfarm10 is working under Scientific Linux
CERN version 3.0.4, contrary to all other computers at Lxfarm (working
under Red Hat Linux CERN version 7.3.X). It may cause a problems with
running of some programs compiled under 7.3.X on lxfarm10. In this case
you will need to recompile such a programs directly under lxfarm10.
Keep also in mind that we are going to move all Lxfarm computers to
Scientific Linux soon.

New version of CERNLIB is available under /cern/2003 directory. See
/cern/2003/README for details of Release 2003. Now the symbolic link
/cern/new is directed to /cern/2003. If you wish to use 2003 version,
you need to update CERN_LEVEL, CERN_ROOT and PATH environments
accordingly.
